Nintendo Welcomes Wii
Most gamers may know
it as Nintendo Revolution, but the new name is Wii (pronounced as “we”). As of
April 27th, Nintendo’s seventh-generation video game console, their
fifth home console, became the newest successor to Nintendo GameCube. Wii is
unique with the Wii Remote, or “Wii-mote”, which can be used as a handheld
pointing device and as detecting motion in three dimensions. The controller
contains a speaker and a rumbling device which provides sensory feedback.
A New Style of Gaming
Wii will break down that wall that separates video game
players from everybody else.
Wii will put people more in touch with their games … and
each other. But you’re probably asking: What does the name mean?
Wii sounds like “we,” which emphasizes this console is for
everyone.
Wii can easily be remembered by people around the
world, no matter what language they speak. No confusion. No need to abbreviate.
Just Wii.

Wii's Wireless Innovations
By: Matt Casamassina
Wireless solution provider Broadcom today announced a partnership to supply
Nintendo's Wii console with the Bluetooth technology that enables the
peripherals to interact with the system. According to an official release, Wii
will be the first videogame console in history to use Bluetooth as the standard.
The platform's Wii-motes use Bluetooth to eliminate the need for wires.
Broadcom's Bluetooth technology provides a dramatic increase in performance
and reliability, as well as low latency, which in laymen's terms means perfect
accuracy and response time.
In addition, Broadcom will supply Nintendo's Wii console with a
single-chip, 54g Wi-Fi solution, enabling wireless connectivity for online
multiplayer games and an interrupted connection to Nintendo's always-on
network. Wii will further utilize Broadcom's BroadRange tech, enabling higher
data rates even when players are farther away from the console.
"Broadcom's ability to supply and support custom features for both
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi has enables us to provide our customers with a unique
gaming experience powered by high-performance, field-proven wireless
solutions," said Genyo Takeda, general manager of Nintendo's Integrated
Research and Development division.

We were invited to celebrate Ryan's birthday on Friday night, and having more in the way of spare parts than cash, and knowing his affinity for all things Star Wars, we figured we'd throw together a Star Wars themed Wii sensor bar for him. I grabbed a cheap SW Lego kit at the Target, and set about modifying it. I must admit, I felt like I was betraying an old friend when I started drilling and snipping at the plastic to fit the components.
In this pic, I had to make sure it would all work and fit, and then I had to take a bunch of it apart again.
Boooooo!

After leaping into the body of Megatron and suffering from partial amnesia, Optimus Prime's only link to his own time was maintained through brain-wave transmissions with Pete. Pete explained to Optimus that the best chance of leaping out of this body was to get ELTMAN to take more photo's.
After finally getting ELTMAN's camera to work, Optimus Prime had to put it some where ELTMAN would see it...
